Jasper

I am in Jasper. I started work yesterday, and had to unload over 100 bales of hay from Dave's trailer and stack them in the barn. Tori's boss came to ride with her son, and they really enjoyed it (at least they said they did). So far it is not too busy here, we need to wait until school is out. Then the families will come to Jasper, and to ride. As of this moment, I do not have a roommate. Dave says that she will be here by June 15, which could mean that she will be here anytime between now and then. I have a sink in my room, which I have not had the last two years here. The only problem is that it is a co-ed cabin, and we have to share the bathroom with the guys. It is common to see guys running around in only towels, and to walk into the bathroom, and find the guys in a stall, peeing with the door open. I don't know if I can survive here, if that is what will be happening all summer, I liked my all girls cabin. I don't have any pictures yet so that is all for now.

North Battleford

We made it all the way from Kenora, ON to North Battleford SK today. We are planning to be in Jasper in the afternoon tomorrow. We are tired, as we have been driving 13 hours a day, and went through 2 time changes. We are going to bed now. Here are some pics.

Kenora

We are finally in Kenora. We stopped in Kakabeka to visit my friend Sarah. We had a nice lunch at a family diner, on the highway. When we got to Highway 596 we met Susan. We followed her to Kenora to get gas. Then we followed her down the worst road to her house. We put our things in the guest room, and then Tori changed into a bathing suit, and I stayed in my dress. We then went to the lake, and Tori and I jumped in. Tori jumped in first, as I have a fear of jumping into water that I cannot see the bottom of. The water was not too cold. I scraped my foot and knee on the rocks though. Now we are drinking tea and talking about mom and Susan. Here are some pictures.

Day 1

We made it all the way to Wawa tonight. We were going to go another hour, but the best motels were here. Will write more tomorrow.

Not much time to write this, but I am leaving for Jasper in the morning. (Saturday May 23)

Yay

My computer has been fixed!!! My brothers friend managed to splice two power adapters together, and now I can charge my computer using my own power cord. I told him that if he could get me a power cord, I would buy a new hard drive, and keep my computer. Otherwise I was going to sell it. So I bought a hard drive, and it only cost me $80 or so to fix (for the hard drive, and I gave Armin a few dollars for work.) I am so happy that I have it back.

On and on

They say that bad things come in threes, but I think I have passed that. Apart from buying new tires, buying new rims, cutting my thumb, and having my hours cut, my computer has died. I got a Toshiba laptop the end of my first summer in Jasper, and I have had non stop problems with it. The SD card reader went, the sound went, the disk reader went, the power adapter died. Some of these were solved by wiping the hard drive. It must have been wiped a few too many times though, as now the hard drive is dead. One of Alec's friends (that works at CCI looked at it and said it was FUBAR (pardon the language). So now I have to find a new laptop. I will never ever buy anything Toshiba again, due to the amount of problems I have had. If you know anyone that wants a crap computer for parts, let me know. It has no hard drive and no power adapter.
